Lindsey Eve Vuolo (born October 19, 1981) is an American model best known for her appearance in Playboy as the November 2001 Playmate. She graduated from Pennsbury High School in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, in 2000. She was named Sports Night Queen her senior year [1].
Vuolo was born in Princeton, New Jersey, to an American Jewish mother of Russian descent and an Italian-American father who converted to Judaism to marry her mother; and she was raised Jewish. Pictures of Vuolo's bat mitzvah ceremony at age 13 were included in her Playboy pictorial. The fact that she attended an Orthodox synagogue while she was active with Playboy (although none of the men in the synagogue acknowledged recognizing her) led to a fair amount of media attention, including an interview with columnist Shmuley Boteach.[2] "I consider myself a nice Jewish girl," Vuolo says of herself. She frequently connects with her Jewish roots and religion and has denounced intermarriage.[3]
Some have incorrectly claimed that Vuolo is the first Jewish Playmate. Vuolo herself has agreed it is more likely that she merely is the first openly Jewish Playmate. In fact, there have been other Jewish Playmates; Cindy Fuller, Playmate for May 1959, was likely the first, and others like Nikki Ziering (September 1997) who converted to Judaism; as well as other models who were not considered 'Playmates' (i.e. Barbi Benton, Cindy Margolis). However, Playboy has typically not documented its models' religious affiliations, so other Jews may also have modeled.
She also has starred in several Playboy features and was a recurring model for several years in Playboy's special edition magazines, such as Voluptuous Vixens.
She also appeared on Playboy's balcony in New Orleans for Mardi Gras in 2003 and 2004, where she publicly bared her breasts, tossed beads to partiers on the street below, and romped around with fellow Playboy models such as Brittany Evans, Merritt Cabal, Teri Marie Harrison and Sandra Hubby.
